What is a domain name?
A domain name tells people (and computers) how to find your home page on the internet. Each domain name is assigned to a numerical IP (Internet Protocol) Address by tour host provider. Since people remember names better then numbers, the domain name translates this number into words  -  www.yourname.com . Your domain name will be yours for as long as you maintain the yearly registration fee. You may also have multiple domain names pointing at your account.

What's the difference between a mailbox and an alias?
When you first get your account, you are assigned a new mailbox. This will contain the email address username@yourdomain.com. Any aliases added to this box will have the same characteristics as the first email address. For instance a popular one might be adding an alias of yourname@yourdomain.com . Any E-Mail sent to that second address will forward to the same place as the first address, invoke the same auto-responder as the first, and generally behave just like the first address in all ways except for the fact that the name is different. You can also send mail out under your alias name. On the other hand, arranging for a second email box means not only that you get a new email address, but you also get to configure it completely independently of the first.
